God began planting seeds of a missionary heart during Rebecca’s childhood Sunday school classes, where she studied the lives of missionaries serving around the world. Throughout Rebecca’s life, she has participated in several short-term mission trips, but has always carried a deep desire to serve full-time on the mission field, sharing the love of Christ.
In 2018, the vision for You Matter Ministries was born out of a passion that had been growing in Rebecca since she was a little girl. Now a grown woman, Rebecca looked into the eyes of the men, women, and children in a church in the Mexican desert and felt a deep conviction: people needed to know that they mattered. The message of hope was clear–regardless of race, ethnicity, or the country or culture into which one is born, every person created in the image of God wants and needs to know that they are seen, loved, and created for a purpose.
In June of 2022, God took Rebecca to Colima, Mexico, where He began opening doors and building relationships with local pastors and churches in remarkable ways. Over the last few years, He has continued to clarify the vision, strengthen those relationships, and expand the reach of the ministry. Through You Matter Ministries, Rebecca is partnering with God to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Colima, Mexico, and beyond.
You Matter Ministries exists to proclaim:
- You Matter to God – through evangelism and sharing the Word of God. (Matthew 28:19-20)
- You Matter to the Church – by offering leadership and discipleship training to local pastors and the next generation so that the Kingdom of God can be passed from one generation to another. (Malachi 1:11)
- You Matter to the World – by hosting short-term mission trips, giving others the opportunity to use their gifts and callings to serve those in need around the world. (Romans 12:13)
